What is not covered in the price of the workshop or

spending money.
Group size and Transportion:
We keep our groups small. They
range in size from three to no more than twelve people,
to ensure personal attention and your comfort. We will
travel in a comfortable, non-smoking, air-conditioned
van and if needed an additional air-conditioned car.
Payment:
A deposit of € 500 is required
to hold your place in the Fresco Workshop or Tour. Full
payment is due 60 days before the start of the Fresco
Workshop or Tour. If you sign up less than 60 days before
departure, full payment will be due immediately.
Cancellation Policy:
Up to 60 days before the workshop
or tour, a full refund is provided. When there is a
less than 60-day cancellation, a 30% fee is retained
to cover non-refundable costs to AlohaTuscany.
If there is less than 30-day cancellation, a 50% fee
will be retained. Although unlikely, AlohaTuscany
reserves the right to cancel the Workshop or Tour with
a full refund. Trip cancellation insurance is highly
recommended to protect you from this unlikely event.
Travel Arrangements:
AlohaTuscany does not
make flight or train arrangements, but we will be more
than pleased to give you advice on the best routes to
take. A good travel agent can also help you find the
best value on airfares. Due to the length of the flight
and the number of time zones crossed, you need to leave
the USA at least one calendar day before your Tour or
Workshop begins (You will "lose" a day when
traveling to Italy). You are responsible for having
an up to date passport. Please be aware that you must
have more than 6 months remaining on your passport prior
to visiting a foreign country. Applications for passports
are available at your local U.S. Post Office or online.
Arrival:
For either the Workshop or
the Tour you will be responsible for making arrangements
to arrive at the main train Station in Florence (Santa
Maria Novella) or the Florence Airport (FLR) on the
day the workshop begins. We will pick you up and drive
directly to Villa Ruccelai to check in. We will be
in touch with you prior to your departure to confirm
your arrival time.
Departure:
You will be driven to the
Florence Airport (FLR) or the main train station in
Florence (Santa Maria Novella) on the final day of
your Workshop or Tour. Please let us know your expected
departure time so we may schedule everyone properly.
Security:
For anyone with security concerns,
AlohaTuscany was in Italy from March to July
this year (2002) preparing for and conducting the
June Workshop and Tour. We felt as safe as we always
have! Security has increased in Europe/Italy just
as it has at home in the States.
Spending
Money in Italy:
Remember to budget for a few
meals on your free day (workshop only), as well as gifts
and shopping. We have found that the availability of
ATMs in Italy has rendered "Traveler's Checks"
virtually unnecessary (they might be good for a backup
in case you have a problem with your ATM Card). To our
delight, credit cards are now widely accepted in Italy.
Trip Insurance:
AlohaTuscany
strongly recommends that Workshop or Tour participants
purchase Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance. This
can protect you from the cost of trip cancellation,
as well as provide overseas medical insurance and cover
other unforeseen circumstances. Your travel agent can
provide you with advice on insurance providers. Our
links page also contains links to travel insurance providers.
Perfume
and Smoke-Free Policy:
As some people are sensitive
to Perfumes and other scents, AlohaTuscany would
appreciate that all Workshop and Tour participants cooperate
with us in creating a perfume-free environment to ensure
that all participants can enjoy their time in Italy.
We also ask that any smoking be outdoors, away from
the group. There will be no smoking allowed in the vans.
At the same time, keep in mind that we cannot stop the
locals from lighting up around smoke-sensitive tour
participants..
Terms and Conditions:
AlohaTuscany reserves
the right to change itinerary or accommodation locations
due to conditions beyond our control. We will substitute
equivalent locations or accommodations should this be
necessary or desirable. AlohaTuscany shall not
become liable nor responsible for any loss, injury or
damage to person or property in connection with any
means of transportation or other services resulting
directly or indirectly from acts of machinery or equipment,
strikes, riots, war, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantine
or from whatsoever cause. AlohaTuscany reserves
the right to accept or decline any person as a tour
or workshop member either prior to departure or during
the tour or workshop. In this case, AlohaTuscany
will refund an equitable amount of money. In this case,
no allowance will be made for unused tour services such
as meals or sightseeing.
Please
let AlohaTuscany know of any pre-existing physical
disability that may require attention or treatment in
writing prior to the beginning of a tour. We will do
our best to accommodate you, but be aware that Italy
is not yet up to the standards of the United States
in access for those with disabilities.
